We shall never cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
(T. S. Eliot)

I studied Physics at the University of Lecce (now University of Salento) obtaining my Degree in July 2002 with the presentation of a thesis entitled "Compatibility and Completeness in Quantum Mechanics". From 2003 to 2006 I was a PhD student at the University of Lecce where I got my PhD degree in Physics on September 2006, discussing a thesis entitled "Lecce and Brussels: Two Proposals for a Realistic and Objective Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics". From 2007 to 2011 I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Physics of the University of Salento. In the period 2011-2013 I was a Research Assistant at the Center Leo Apostel for Interdisciplinary Studies (CLEA) of the Free University of Brussels (VUB). Currently, I am a Lecturer at the School of Management of the University of Leicester.

I am author or co–author of more than 70 publications, including articles in A1–journals, scientific monographs and conference proceedings. I contributed to the organization of conferences and seminars, participated in several international conferences and presented more than 30 communications, including invited talks, seminars and lessons. I am a reviewer for various A1–journals and official reviewer for the American Mathematical Society (AMS). I am co–editor (with C. Garola and A. Rossi) of the volume The Foundations of Quantum Mechanics: Historical Analysis and Open Questions. Cesena 2004 (362 pages, World Scientific, Singapore, 2006) on the foundations of quantum mechanics. I am also a Member of the Editorial Board of the journal Foundations of Science as Assistant Editor. I am Secretary and Member of the Executive Committee of the International Quantum Structures Association (IQSA). I actively participate in the Quantum Interaction (QI) Community. Finally, I am associated with the Italian Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN).

My research interests mainly concern the interface of natural and social sciences. These interests cover various disciplines ranging from the foundations and philosophy of science, to theoretical physics, cognitive science and economics. Currently, I am mainly involved in the identification and application of quantum structures outside the microscopic world, and in the development of formal models in psychology, decision theory, economics, finance and computer science.

Here you can find my CV and some of my publications.
