2nd European Workshop on Social Neuroscience

 

This Workshop on Social Neuroscience took take place on 15-18 November 2011 in Gent, Belgium.

Participants also attended the symposium on the social brain on Monday 14 November 2011 in Brussels.          

The workshop, lunch and 4-nights accommodation are covered for participants belonging to member states of ESCON2 (European Social Cognition Network Austria Belgium - Cyprus - Czech Republic Denmark Finland Germany Ireland Lithuania Netherlands Norway Poland Portugal Sweden Switzerland - United Kingdom). This is financed by ESCON2 and ESF.

Program and Speakers

This intensive 4-days workshop provided participants with an introduction to social neuroscience. Invited lecturers will give an overview of the current state of theory and research findings in EEG and fMRI research on social cognition. The workshop was in the form of lectures and demonstrations, with ample time for question-answer sessions.

Applications were accepted from pre-doc and post-doc students:

  • who have already experience on social neuroscience research but want to learn more about it
  • who are about to / plan to begin social neuroscience research

Applications are accepted from pre-doc and post-doc students who are to begin / have already experience on social neuroscience research. Use this application form to submit a request to participate at the Workshop. You will be informed one week after the deadline whether you are accepted or not.

How to get there?

•  From the railway station at the Brussels airport:

Take the train to Brussels (North, Central or Midi ) 20 minutes

•  From the railway station in Brussels :

Take a train to Ghent (direction Oostende, Knokke or BlankenBerghe) - 30 minutes from Brussels Midi
Do NOT take the regional train that mentions AALST/ALOST because that is a stop train that makes your journey much longer.
