MATKIN: Software to Model Kinetics and Rheokinetics

MATKIN is in house developed software is able to simulate kinetic processes such as chemical reactions and crystallization. The results can be optimized by changing the kinetic parameters in order to fit experimental measured data like for example heat flow of a differential scanning calorimeter. In addition the chemical reaction model can be linked to a molar mass model which will based on the reaction conversions and a statistical approach predict the mean molar mass of the reaction product.

Rheokinetic study of inhibited polyuethanes for resin transfer moulding

In this PhD research first the polyurethane (PUR) and polyisocyanurate (PIR) reaction will be experimentally studied. To do this thermal analysis techniques will be used (DSC, dynamic rheometry and RheoDSC). The next step consists out of modeling the reactions, both PUR and PIR, using a mechanistic model.
