After graduating as a professional bachelor in chemistry at the Katholieke hogeschool Leuven (KHL) in 2012, I decided to continue my studies and Master of Science in the industrial science: chemistry at the university of Antwerp (UA). In 2014 I started my master thesis at the VUB called "Preparation and Characterization of Covalent Adaptable Crosslinked Coatings Based on Photoreversible Anthracene Chemistry" in FYSC.
After completing my master I started a PhD at the VUB on powder coatings for heat sensitive substrates.
Reaction kinetics and chemoreological behaviour of biobased powdercoatings for heat-sensitive substrates
Powder coatings for heat-sensitive substrates like wood, MDF, or plastics are developed using biobased building blocks. The reaction kinetics and the chemorheological behaviour of the crosslinking free radical polymerization are investigated using thermal analysis, dynamic rheometry, and RheoDSC, an in-house developed technique for doing simultaneous (MT)DSC and rheometry measurements.
