The 17th International Conference on Experimental Mechanics (http://icem17.org/) took place in Rhodes, Greece, July 3-7, 2016. PhD researchers Kalliopi, Xing and Sander participated and presented our research in the field of composites design and characterization!

One of the most important issues discussed by our Head Prof. Danny Van Hemelrijck in the committee board meeting was the next conference of ICEM18 that will be organized by VUB in Brussels in the summer of 2018!

The scientific papers presented at the conference were:

INFLUENCE OF AN OPEN OR CLOSED HOLE ON STRAIN CONCENTRATIONS IN GFRP SPECIMENS AIDED BY DIC - A COMPARISON BETWEEN UD TAPE AND NCF Kalteremidou K.A., Fonteyn S., Brouwers S., Mangialetto F., Pyl L., and Hemelrijck D.V

INVESTIGATION ON MODE I FRACTURE TOUGHNESS OF CARBON EPOXY COMPOSITES ASSISTED BY DIGITAL IMAGE CORRELATION Fonteyn S., Pyl L., and Hemelrijck D.V

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF FABRIC AND UNIDIRECTIONAL COMPOSITES UNDER QUASI-STATIC CRUSHING LOADINGS Liu X., Pyl L., Fonteyn S., Boulpaep F., and Hemelrijck D.V.
