Eva Ulrike Pirker

​Eva Ulrike Pirker teaches Anglophone Literatures at HHU Düsseldorf. She studied New English Literatures, American Studies and Philosophy at the University of Tübingen and earned her PhD at the University of Freiburg. She is the author of Narrative Projections of a Black British History (Routledge 2011) and Black History – White History: Britain’s Historical Programme between Windrush and Wilberforce (with Barbara Korte, Transcript 2011), and has coedited several books and special issues devoted to questions of cultural identity and representation. Her published research in the field of BBWW includes work on the writers Zadie Smith, Andrea Levy, Charlotte Williams, Jackie Kay, Bernadine Evaristo and Sharon Dodua Otoo, the painter Lubaina Himid, photographers Ingrid Pollard and Suki Dhanda.
