new BCUS project: 'Lost in translation'
In May 2022, Dalila Ghodbane joins the department of Architectural Engineering to work on an ethno-architectural inquiry into the relationship between formal and informal building practice. Dalila will build in the insights from her PhD, 'Without a Plan? An Ethnography of Architecture, Domestic Microclimates and Building Practices in Contemporary Cairo' (Academy of Architecture, Mendrisio, 2021), yet she will link it to the Brussels context. The focus will be on how the theoretical discourse is translated into practice by professionals and non-professionals. For more information, click here.
