Campustalks: Local movements in a globalizing world

Tuesday, 15 October, 2013 - 12:00 to Tuesday, 15 October, 2013 - 14:00
Campus: Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering campus

Politicians and economists have long had the tendency to only see the positive effects of globalization. Yet, globalization has also led to an overuse of finite natural resources, an increase of carbon dioxide emissions, major job losses in European countries, etc.
For the first time in recent decades, the idea of an ever-increasing global trade is questioned. To secure a sustainable future, focusing on locally rooted economic structures and on local manufacturing is crucial.

This campustalks gives the floor to successful examples of local initiatives that are economically viable, environmentally sound and socially responsible.
