As policy-makers are becoming more and more aware of the importance of diversity and gender equality, the Flemish Government has given green light for a Master’s degree in gender and diversity, that will be set up through a collaboration by the five Flemish universities. But diversity goes beyond cultural diversity and also plays a role in for example politics, economy and technology. In this Campustalks seven speakers will try to map the advantages and disadvantages of diversity and their influence on society, innovation, communication, healthcare...

Speakers are:

  • Dirk Geldof (UA, HUB & Karel de Grote-Hogeschool): 'Super-diversity. How migration changes our society'
  • Katrien Struyven & Catherine Coubergs (VUB): 'Diversity in education - differentiated instruction as a means to enhance learning4all'
  • Bram Vanschoenwinkel (VUB, DBIO): 'Is biodiversity overrated?'
  • Karen Celis & Gily Coene (VUB): 'Interuniversitary Master of Arts in Gender and Diversity'
  • Hilde Van de Velde (UZBrussel): 'Diversity in reproductive medicine and genetics'
  • Hans Van de Water (VLIR): 'Diversity as an opportunity for international academic cooperation'
  • Rudi Janssens (BRIO)

Participation to the lunch (12.00-12.50h.) costs 7 euros (to be paid cash).
