The challenges for home monitoring systems are multi-faceted: there is not only a need for software and hardware to obtain the required system functionality, including safety and security needs, a simple interface is also required, as well as reliable data interpretation and the possibility to deliver first aid from a distance. Monitoring patients in a hospital setting is formly established, but to what extent is this also the case for home monitoring systems and how reliable are they?
