In the context of discovering the city from a new perspective and participating in 'Breaking Down The Walls', the VUB's InCAMPUS programme (focussed on integration of refugee students at VUB), alongside with BON Inburgering Agentschap, is organising three thematic excursions into the city.

The event is open to ALL students (refugees and regular students of all nationalities). The excursions are on the following days with the following themes:

  • Friday 27 April, 13:00-17:00 - Theme: PICNIC: setting off from the VUB Campus Etterbeek at Student information point, Buidling D
  • Friday 18 May, 13:00-17:00 - Theme: CULTURE: setting off from the VUB Campus Etterbeek at the Student information point, Building D
  • Thursday 24 May, 16:00-20:00 - Theme: NIGHTLIFE: meeting up at metro station Sint-Katelijne/St Catherine

The event is free of charge, but you will need to pay for your ftransportation in Brussels, so bring your mobib card!

What is the VUB's InCAMPUS Programme? It is an introductory pathway to university studies for refugees, composed of 5 modules to give refugee students the necessary tools and support to help them integrate at VUB and start/continue their academic goals. This is done through intensive language classes (EN/NL), training on educational methods, cultural orientation courses, psychological support and academic courses from the chosen academic programme. Who is BON? Bon is the Brussels reception office for integration participants. bon welcomes people of foreign origin who have a minimum 3 month residence permit. Both newcomers and non-newcomers can come to bon for a free integration programme.
