The course

  • A practical introduction to the Spanish language, with communication as the central theme.

  • We will cover the various aspects of the language. Grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation serve the four language skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking.

  • We will also look at cultural aspects and differences between Spanish speaking countries.

  • At the end of the course, you will have surpassed the A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR). You will be able to understand and use familiar daily expressions and basic sentences. You will be able to introduce yourself to other people, ask and answer questions about personal details, such as where you live, people you know and things you own and answer simple questions, provided the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help you.

For whom?

Anyone who wants to follow a beginner’s course in Spanish. Prior knowledge is not needed.
Enrolment is open to VUB students, staff and external interested parties.

This is a basic course. No prior knowledge of Spanish is needed.

Participants who have completed the course successfully will receive a certificate from ACTO stating the level, the number of hours and the final result.
