VUB Walkout against sexism and discrimination
M
entrance
March 8 is ‘Women’s Day’ all over the world.
Even today we have to face too many differences between men and women on the work floor. In numerous countries, women are being paid less than men for the same job. Women often work in sectors with low salaries and bad working conditions, such as in the cleaning sector. Many women also take the main responsibility for tasks within the family: taking care of the children, husband, parents, grandparents, etc. Men who participate in these tasks and who plead for a more equal work-life balance, are too often labelled as sissy and lacking ambition.
That’s why we will stop work at 15:00 pm on Friday 8th March.
Participate in the walkout. Say no to sexism & discrimination because:
• equal pay for equal work is the law
• care leave & time credit are rights for women AND men
• discrimination is forbidden by law as well as objectionable
We claim respect and good collective salary and labour conditions for all.
We claim respect for each employee.
We claim that rights like care leave / time credit, holidays ... will be guaranteed.
>> Meeting: Friday March 8, 15:00 pm
Entry of M building, Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus.
Let’s make a fist together! See you then?
