  • Vrije Universiteit Brussel awarded their 2015 Prize for Societal Valorisation to Prof. Cathy Macharis and Prof. Joeri Van Mierlo of the MOBI research centre.

  • On the fourth edition of the TML thesisprize, organised by Transport & Mobility Leuven, Yannick became second laureate. He wrote his thesis, titled ‘searching optimal locations for intermodal terminals: a GIS-analysis for Belgium’, with supervision of Prof. Cathy Macharis and Drs. Dries Meers of research group MOBI and Prof. Frank Canters and Dr. Tim Van de Voorde of the Geography department.

  • The VUB research group MOBI (Mobility, Logistics and Automotive Technology Research Centre) will be presenting the BMW i3, one of its electric cars, at the ‘Future Conference’ of 12 June in Leuven. At the same conference, MOBI will also present ‘Vaartinjevracht’: an online tool for businesses to calculate how to get goods from A to B in the most economical and ecological manner.

    The Future Conference takes place at the Provinvinciehuis van Leuven, from 15h30 till 20h00. The subject:  future of sustainability, mobility, work and health in Vlaams-Brabant in 2030.

  • MOBI-researcher ir. Odile Capron received the “Best paper presentation award” at the second edition of the International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications on 20-23 October in Madrid, Spain. Capron received the prize for her presentation of the research paper entitled “Battery Thermal Modelling – Assessment of heat distribution and Optimization of battery design concept”.
