VUB Welcomes 27 New Fellows

VUB Fellows 2015Wednesday the 17th of June, VUB welcomed 27 new Fellows with a ceremony in the city hall of Brussels. Our Fellows form the indispensable bridge between academia and society. The aim of the Fellowship programme is to act as a platform where academics and the worlds of society and business meet.

Vrije Universiteit Brussels initiated its Fellowship programme in 2012, with five Solvay Fellows. This year we introduce 27 new Fellows. In total VUB now has 76 outstanding Fellows. All are unique personalities.

This year VUB also welcomes four Honorary Fellows, who have been, for the past three years, delivering fantastic work as Fellow and wish to continue their commitment.

Prof. dr. Hugo Thienpont, University Fellowship Coordinator: “We are proud to have 76 outstanding Fellows that bridge the gap between Academia and Society. Together with the Fellowship community, we continue our efforts for the university of the future.”

“Our Fellows help us to thrive as an open university, connected to society, industry, and the future. The VUB Fellowship is not just about sharing networks and knowledge, it is also about sharing values,” concludes Rector Paul De Knop.
