Hans De Wolf, Stefan Wouters, and Joris D'hooghe on Dada’s Afterlife at Salon Suisse in Venice

The Flanders Art Institute has invited professor Hans De Wolf and the researchers Stefan Wouters and Joris D'hooghe to contribute to the second Salon Suisse organised by the Swiss Arts Council within the framework of the Venice Biennale. De Wolf and Wouters will hold a lecture with the title Dada’s afterlife: the fortune of the event culture in which they will explore the pioneering character of Dada. D'hooghe's talk will explore the ways in which the Belgian poet and artist Marcel Broodthaers interacted with the legacy of Marcel Duchamp.

For the 56th edition of the Venice Biennale, the Flanders Arts Institute collaborates with the Swiss Arts Council on the organisation of an international discursive programme, Salon Suisse. The topic of this Salon Suisse is Dada. Its title: S.O.S. DADA - The World Is A Mess. Each month, for three consecutive nights, one topic will be explored with the help of international guests. Mid-September the second Salon, entitled Dionysius redivides, will take place.

Hans De Wolf, Stefan Wouter, and Joris D'hooghe will hold their lectures on the 12th of September. The evening will end with a performance by Dennis Tyfus / Vom Grill.

Sounds good? See you in the Venetian Palazzo Trevisan, Fondamenta Andrea Navagero, on the 12th of September!
