The sculpture No title (To Build A House You Start With The Roof) stands out because of its unique fragility - a rather unusual feature for artworks in public spaces. A lifelike arm rises from the soil and holds a long coat hook up in the air. A white vest hangs motionless on the hook. The composition is strange and leaves the viewer with more questions than answers.

It seems as if the character - seemingly buried underground - is waving the white vest as a flag, a symbol of surrender used across the globe to call for a ceasefire and peace. This message is entirely in line with the fundamental humanist values of VUB.
