History

The first International Conference on Missing Children and Adults 'Working across borders' took place between the 18th till 20th of June 2013 at University of Portsmouth. The event was organised in cooperation with CEOPMissing People, and the UK Missing Persons Bureau. It brought together academics and practitioners to discuss findings related to the broader phenomenon of 'going missing.'

Delegates from different parts of the world welcomed the opportunity to learn from available research as well as from practical needs and challenges related to the day-to-day work of law enforcement and third sector experts. Organisers of the first conference, including The Centre for the Study of Missing Persons of University of Portsmouth, are now joining forces with Missing Children Europe in organising a second edition of this successful event.
