Antitrust Decision-Making in Brussels and Beijing

woensdag, 3 juni, 2015 - 12:00
Campus: Brussels Health Campus
Institute for European Studies, Pleinlaan 5
Conference Room Rome (floor -1)
IES Policy Forum

In the third and final session in the IES EU/China antitrust seminar series, we will turn to the very topical issue of how institutional structures and other factors affect decision-making in the antitrust sphere in Brussels and Beijing. The Institute for European Studies is pleased to welcome a distinguished and diverse panel of speakers which will discuss these topics from their differing vantage points, in academia, in the public, and in the private sector.  Professor Zhang will share key findings from her recent research into how the bureaucracy and political processes in China affect their merger, monopoly and cartel decisions. Chris Bryant will give a practitioner’s view from the front lines in Brussels. Torben Toft will, as a specialist in both the EU and China systems, provide a unique comparative perspective.
