  • Marc DelgadoMarc Delgado, Geography Professor at the University of Asuncion, completed his MS (magna cum laude) and PhD (summa cum laude) at the VUB. He was voted by xyHt magazine - the most important geospatial publication in North America - as one of the world's 40 best professional geographers under the age of 40. He is one of the winners along with 39 other scientists, educators and specialists from 18 countries.

    The VUB's ICT4D OpenClinic project was nominated for the Digital for Development (D4D) award. The award is a two-yearly initiative from the Royal Museum of Middle-Africa with support from the Belgian Directorate-General for Development Cooperation (DGD). The Digital for Development prize awards initiatives which use digitalisation and (new) technologies in an innovative way to support sustainable development goals. 

  • An international conference to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Belgium-China diplomatic relations was organised on the 3rd and 4th October. The conference, co-sponsored by Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Egmont Institute – Royal Institute for International Relations and Brussels Academy for China and European Studies (BACES), took place at the Egmont Palace and the VUB Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus.

  • The interest of International Students to obtain a degree at VUB in Brussels, the heart of the European Union, has continuously increased over the past ten years.

    To be able to offer interested international students to correct information, the International Relations & Mobility Fair of VUB will attend the following International Study Fairs:

  • Vanaf maandag vertoeft er een uitgebreide VUB-delegatie in China. Zij vergezellen Koning Filip, Koningin Mathilde en een schare hoogwaardigheidsbekleders, waaronder vertegenwoordigers van overheden en bedrijven, onderzoekers, onderhandelaars en overleggers, importeurs en exporteurs, et al. voor een staatsbezoek van een week aan de Volksrepubliek.

  • VUB en University of Patras sluiten onderzoeksovereenkomstThe University of Patras and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel have a longstanding and intense joint history of collaboration. To further intensify and facilitate this already successful collaboration, both universities have now expressed their commitment to create a joint research laboratory.
