Come to the start prepared
To help future students transition from secondary school to university, Vrije Universiteit Brussel provides a range of preparatory activities. Including Dutch language tests.
Or do you want to brush up on your mathematics? Then take part in the online VUB preparatory programme in mathematics for engineering sciences (self-study continuous 2 April-16 September 2022) or follow online lessons (6-16 September 2022).

Since 2018, everyone does the 'starttest'
Together with all Flemish universities, VUB organises the starttest. In any scenario, you may start the programme, but participation in the test is compulsory. Thanks to the test, you find out about your mathematical knowledge and spatial insight; whether you are ahead or will have to catch up. From 2023 a remediation trajectory is foreseen for students that failed the starttest.
Also don't forget to register in time at www.ijkingstoets.be. This is possible as of now for the test on Monday 3 July or Saturday 26 August 2023. Please note that registrations will be closed two weeks before the start of the test.
All practical information can be found on the engineer-architect page of the starttest website. There you will also find a lot of example exams. Apart from solving these calibration test questions and making online exercises, you can also prepare yourself at VUB.
