Dalila Ghodbane is an architect and urban planner (ENSA Paris la Villette and the French Institute of Urbanism). In 2022 she was funded by BCUS to work out the project "Lost in translation" at the department of Architectural Engineering at VUB. This research project builds further on her PhD ‘Without a Plan? An Ethnography of Architecture, Domestic Microclimates, and Building Practices in Contemporary Cairo’ that was defended in 2021 at the academy of architecture in Mendrisio (Università della Svizzera italiana). Her research interest is at the intersection of architecture and the social sciences, which enables her to address urban development from the perspective of practical experience.
