VUB assigns great importance to impactful, socially relevant research, inspired by its role as an Urban Engaged University. That is why the university wants to attune its functioning even better to the opportunities, challenges and needs of metropolitan Brussels. One of the basic pillars in the sub-policy plan for research is participatory, community-based research with a strong local basis.
The R&D department, with the support of the CERL expertise centre and the Science Outreach Office, therefore launches a call for projects to give VUB researchers the opportunity to develop citizen science projects with a 'community engaged' slant. Innovative research, fundamental or applied, that allows citizens to contribute to the scientific process and to feed science-based actions and policies.
All details concerning the project call can be found through the VUB Funding portal. Project applications must be submitted by 1 November 2022 at the latest.
