At Vrije Universiteit Brussel, we attach great importance to the quality of our education. We are therefore constantly working on further developing and improving the quality of education. This is done in the first place by our teachers - the lecturers and assistants - in the training councils. They do this together and in consultation with the students, alumni, representatives from the field, external peers, and experts. In addition, each study programme goes through a regular quality cycle. The results can be found on each individual programme page, under the 'quality' tab. And it is not only our study programmes that are under scrutiny. As an institution, we are six-yearly reviewed by an international panel of quality assurance experts.
To guarantee and improve the quality of our study programmes and education, we use a quality cycle. This is a cycle of actions or quality assurance processes that we go through for each study programme within a certain time frame.
Quality assurance tools
VUB study programmes have several instruments at their disposal to obtain feedback about quality: a programme matrix, fact sheet, focus group, student feedback, professional field survey...
Teachers and training councils need not to do this alone. Education & Student Affairs offers support and guidance where needed.
