Important! 

All employees with a ≥50% employment rate must be domiciled and reside in Belgium according to legal requirements.
If you hold a non-EEA nationality, you must meet the conditions for obtaining a valid Single Permit for Belgium (for Academic staff and researchers or Management and Professionals) or a visa D for Belgium (for PhD). Residence in Belgium or abroad must comply with VUB guidelines (note: residence abroad is only possible for Academic staff and researchers or Management and Professionals with an appointment of less than 50%). The appointment shall only take effect subject to the condition precedent that the Employee obtains and maintains a valid visa/Single Permit issued by the competent Belgian authorities
