Academic profiles

Researchers, professors and assistants apply for a position through the faculty. Key selection criteria include your research and management abilities as well as teaching skills (where relevant)

  1. In the first round, we review your application in terms of CV, degree and motivation. It is important that you upload all diplomas and present your motivation in detail. You may already have been asked a few substantive questions at this stage, as mentioned in the job description.
  2. If this is successful, you can take part in a remote written test or be asked to teach a lesson. This test assesses your technical competences and approach to work.
  3. Passed this test as well? An interview will follow. Your future supervisor and domain experts will assess whether your competencies and vision match those of VUB.

Management & Professionals

If you apply for a Management & Professionals job, the selection process consists of three rounds.

  1. In the first round, we go through your CV and assess your motivation.
  2. If this is successful, you can take part in a remote written test. This test assesses your technical competences and approach to work.
  3. Passed this test as well? An interview will follow. Your future manager, a number of experts in the field and someone from the HR department will assess whether your competencies, personality and ambitions match the culture and the team.
