Signing of mobility agreement and enlargment of the European University EUTOPIA with 10th member

EUTOPIA Week

From 22-26 November, Pompeu Fabra University will be hosting the first face-to-face meeting of the EUTOPIA alliance, one of the pilots of the European Universities project promoted by the European Commission, after the pandemic forced travel restrictions. Named EUTOPIA Week, it will be attended by the rectors of the 10 member universities of the alliance, as well as more than 200 representatives from all the universities.

The EUTOPIA Week opening ceremony, which the media may attend, is to take place on Monday 22 November, at 12.30 pm, in the Saló de Cent chamber of Barcelona City Hall. It will be attended by Laia Bonet and Jordi Martí Grau, third and sixth deputy mayors of Barcelona, respectively; Victoria Alsina, minister of Foreign Affairs and Open Government of the Catalan Government; José Manuel Pingarrón, secretary general for Universities of the Spanish Ministry of Universities, and Themis Christophidou, director general for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission.

Also taking part will be Eva Wiberg, chair of the EUTOPIA Alliance and vice-chancellor of the University of Gothenburg; Oriol Amat, UPF rector, and Josep Lluís Martí, UPF commissioner for Planetary Wellbeing.

Mobility agreement and enlargement with 10th member

In addition, on Tuesday 23 November, at 9.00 am, the signing of the mobility agreement between six universities of the EUTOPIA alliance will take place in the multipurpose room of the Mercè Rodoreda building on the UPF Ciutadella campus. The ceremony will be attended by the 10 rectors of the member universities and may be attended by the media.

During this event, the University of Babeș-Bolyai in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) will officially sign the institution as the tenth partner of EUTOPIA. The signature can be followed via streaming at the following link: https://www.upf.edu/web/eutopia-week/streaming-polivalent
