I’m looking for support with a well-being concern
Sometimes it can be difficult to know where to turn. On SharePoint, you’ll find practical steps to help guide you if you or one of your colleagues is faced with any of the psychosocial challenges listed below.
Stress
I want to know who I can turn to
Sometimes it helps to talk to someone. That’s why you’ll find an alphabetical list of well-being professionals and points of contact on SharePoint, who you can turn to with psychosocial concerns or difficulties.
Independent helplines and services
In addition to VUB’s wellbeing partners, you can also turn to general support services that are accessible to everyone, such as De Druglijn and the Suicide Line 1813.
These organisations operate entirely independently of VUB and offer support for a wide range of situations that may affect your psychosocial well-being.
Leading with well-being in mind
As a manager, you are the first point of contact for your employees and play a key role in the well-being of your team. But you are not alone. On SharePoint, you’ll find tools, guidelines, practical tips and contact details to support you in this role.
Well-being support for students
Are you struggling with stress, fear of failure, or difficulties with motivation or concentration? Are you unsure about your choice of degree programme, or finding it difficult to cope with personal or mental health issues? Our student psychologists will listen to your story and work with you to find the support that best suits your situation. You can choose from individual support, DIY tips or group sessions on a range of topics.
About the You Are Not Alone campaign
At VUB, the well-being of students and staff is a top priority. We want to be a warm and caring community where everyone feels supported. That is why we are strengthening our approach to psychosocial well-being, with the ambition of making well-being the beating heart of our university by 2030. Education, research and societal engagement remain our core missions.
To turn this ambition into reality, VUB is launching You Are Not Alone, or YANA for short. The campaign makes the university’s support for psychosocial well-being clearer and more accessible. When you need support, it is important to know quickly where to turn, who can help you and what to expect. By bringing all the information together in a clear and accessible way, we make the path to support easier.
Together, we are building a community of care where every student and staff member feels safe, heard and supported.
