“Day in and day out, our students can count on the best guidance and they will be trained by some of the biggest names in the international football business,” says Jos Verschueren, director of Sports Management at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and founder of the IFBI. Among others, Grant Downie - Head of performance at Manchester City FC, Peter Willems – Head of Marketing Activities and Sponsorship at UEFA and Alex Stone – Deputy Head of FIFA Digital, will be teaching at the IFBI. “There will also be several international experience tours with visits to famous stadiums, clubs, important competitions and ground-breaking conventions… The IFBI focuses on class and style and pays great attention to detail. Breakfast and lunch will be provided every day and every participant will get a tailored suit.”
Champions League level
Jos Verschueren founded the IFBI with Simon Van Kerckhoven: “With over 15 years of experience in the organization and coordination of continuing education in Sports Management, we will start a brand new chapter in the new academic year. We offer a course at Champions League level that will place future football executives at the kickoff of an exciting career in the football business and at the same time we strive for a more transparent management intomorrow’s football. Interested students from all continents, who have already earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree, can apply. After successfully completing the entire program, our participants will receive a postgraduate certificate in Football Business from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Paul De Knop, rector of the VUB: “The international football industry continues to grow and needs more knowledgeable well-trained professionals who know the business inside out. This is to what the IFBI aspires. As a modern educational institution, the VUB wants to support the IFBI in every way.”
Brussels
The course takes one year and will take place in the prestigious building of the University Foundation in Brussels. This exquisite location excellently matches the image of our postgraduate training. “With this location we also specifically choose Brussels,” says Simon Van Kerckhoven, co-founder of the IFBI. “Brussels is the capital of Europe and is in many respects the centre of the Western football world. Currently Belgium holds one of the top positions in the FIFA ranking and our central location in Brussels offers us many connections all over Europe and abroad, as we want to welcome students from all over the world.”
