Laura throws herself wholeheartedly into student life. She tells you everything you want to know about her adventures. This time, she’s exploring Pilar—the go-to spot for students and young people looking to experience more culture.
"This was my first concert at Pilar - what a shame I hadn’t been there before! It’s an amazing place to discover culture, and it’s right on campus. "
"Choosing a concert was easy, thanks to their online agenda which provides an overview of all upcoming events. You can easily buy your ticket at the door or online. Upon arrival, you receive a wristband that allows you to come and go as you please. Handy to know: there’s a €1 deposit for your cup, which you get back when you return it."

Practical and cozy
"You enter through the Foyer, where you can store your belongings in the lockers for free and can take the time to enjoy a drink at the bar. There’s a wide selection of beers, wines, cocktails, and soft drinks such as ginger beer - my favourite!"
"Safety is a priority at Pilar, and a clear house rule ensures that it’s a safe and inclusive space. You can always approach a staff member if you feel uncomfortable. The first sign of comfort is right at the entrance, where free earplugs are available for those who need them."
An intimate atmosphere
"Once inside the concert venue, you’re immediately immersed in the experience. The venue isn’t very big, but clever lighting gives it a spacious feel. Although there weren’t many people, the vibe was instantly great. The artists were very approachable and the concert was made enjoyable thanks to the small distance between you and the artists."
Conclusion: perfect for a night out in the week
"My honest opinion? Pilar offers students the perfect mix of music, dance, and activities, all right on campus, next to the classrooms where you spend your day. It’s great how culture can be so close to your study space - perfect for a fun night out in the week!"
