VUB Info Day on Sunday 24 April, 10.00-18.00
On Sunday 24 April, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel will open its doors for its annual Info Day, so prospective students can discover its programmes on its campuses in Etterbeek and Jette. As well as the new Bachelor in Artificial Intelligence and the Multilingual Bachelor in Linguistics and Literary Studies, the university will also offer guidance to refugees from Ukraine and other war zones who are looking for a way to begin or continue studying. VUB welcomes them with its refugee programme.
Student Refugee Programme
During Sunday’s Info Day, VUB’s information stand will inform refugees about the InCAMPUS programme, a special preparation programme for 20 refugees. The InCAMPUS course is a one-year preparation programme, with intensive English language preparation and allows students to already select two courses from their intended study programme. The preparatory course also includes intensive study guidance, psychological counselling sessions (group and individual) led by a team of expert psychologists, and cultural orientation sessions with BON, the Brussels office for integration.
InCAMPUS is part of the VUB refugee programme, which was set up in response to the refugee crisis in 2015 with the aim of supporting students fleeing conflict or other dangers and who want to continue or start their academic studies here. InCAMPUS is one of the many additional initiatives at VUB to facilitate access to higher education for refugees, by providing them with guidance on all the administrative and academic requirements, and to fully prepare for enrolment in one of the university’s programmes.
Romain Meeusen, vice-rector Internationalisation: “The uniqueness of our programme lies in the principles that underpin it: the individual follow-up of each student, taking into account the complexity of their situation, with diversity and openness at its core. InCAMPUS is a building block towards a sustainable project that is perfectly adapted to the needs of the refugee student. VUB strongly believes in offering equal opportunities to students from war-torn countries, so they can still write their success stories.”
Applications to the InCAMPUS programme are now OPEN and can be submitted BEFORE 1 June 2022 online.

VUB Info Day practical
Multiple group info sessions lasting 1.5 hours will take place on the VUB campus in Etterbeek between 10.00 and 18.00. Prospective students can also explore the campus and ask questions on housing, study guidance and study financing. In addition, the day is an excellent opportunity for students to look around the dorms, to find out about the programmes and bridging programmes. They can also visit FabLab Brussels, the largest in the city, to see what future students of industrial sciences can expect. For the medical programmes, including rehabilitation sciences and physiotherapy, students are welcomed at the campus in Jette.
