Do you have a strong idea but are unsure where to start? You can now sign up again for the entrepreneurship program at StartLab.Brussels – the early-stage incubator of VUB and ULB. The program offers guidance and support for two groups: young entrepreneurs taking their first steps, and academic researchers looking to turn their research projects into concrete business ideas.
Since its founding, StartLab.Brussels has helped young talents transform their ideas into sustainable, socially relevant projects. It does this through free programs focused on the earliest, and often most challenging, phase of entrepreneurship: from idea to project, and from project to first prototype or test.
Applications for the Build track are open until 16 September. This track is designed for those who don’t yet have a registered company but do have an idea or project, and the motivation to bring it to life.
If you already have an early-stage company with a VAT number, you can register for the Grow track. Applications for this track are also open until September.
About the programs
The Build program for young first-time entrepreneurs starts on 4 October 2025 and consists of 16 weekly evening workshops. The training is based on the lean startup methodology and combines theory with hands-on practice, personal coaching, and networking opportunities. The working language is English or French.
The Build program for academic researchers begins in mid-October and consists of 10 sessions focusing on interaction, market exploration, testing, pivoting, and validating insights.
Participants can expect:
- Weekly evening workshops
- Coaching from experienced entrepreneurs and experts
- Additional masterclasses in sales, finance, branding, pitching, and more
- Expert hours for legal and accounting questions
- Access to a coworking space (7 days a week)
- A diverse, driven community of young entrepreneurs
How to apply
No specific experience or education level is required for this program, only motivation. Young first-time entrepreneurs can apply until 16 September. Selected candidates will be announced on 17 September and will participate in a pitch round from 25 to 27 September. The final selection will be announced on 29 September. Academic researchers can apply until the end of September.
