Last Wednesday, the VUB men’s team took on the universities of Ghent and Hasselt. Bio-engineering Master student Arne Janssens played on the team:
“We lost both games 2-1. We did put up a good fight though, it was close. We only had six players, while the other teams had bigger numbers”.
Ladies basketball team to the semi-finals
Before the volleyball tournament there have already been others, such as soccer, basketball and tennis. The ladies’ basketball team fought well in Ghent and made it to the semi-finals. These will take place on March 22nd.
International
Our students are not only competing in Flanders, but also in the rest of the world, like France. Morgane Michiels, Justine De Sutter, Jonas Merckx and Michael Geerts are all member of the Belgian Student Tennis team. They will compete in the 11th edition of the Master U BNP Fortis tennis competition near Lille in France. The tournament will take place from December 1st until December 4th.

The inter-university sports competition
Student Sport Flanders provides a sports competition every week, on a campus in Flanders or in Brussels. The VUB and Erasmushogeschool often join forces for a team, for which every student can apply. Students can also apply for individual sports. The best 4 teams or individuals from each tournament get invited to the finals. First on Flemish, afterwards on a national level.
