Students are advised to leave their student houses and return home to curb the spread of the corona virus, but for some students that is not an option at this very moment. To make sure that they can safely grab a bit in these upcoming weeks, the VUB student restaurant now offers a take-away service.
Taking into account the current advance of the corona virus, the VUB student restaurant cannot continue its services in the same way as before. Luckily, those who have no choice but to remain on campus can still rely on their familiar VUB resto thanks to the brand new delivery service. A limited selection of sandwiches and drinks will be on offer between 10:30 and 15:00. The selection will change on a daily basis to make sure that all available products are used up and food wastage is prevented.
The university takes the necessary precautions to deliver this special service in the best and safest way possible. This means that the payment terminal, door knobs and other objects that visitors frequently touch will be desinfected regularly and that it is not allowed to take a seat at the restaurant tables. Students and staff members are asked to respect the rules regarding social distancing to the fullest extent.
“We view this alternative as the minimum level of service to students and staff members who can't go home", says Philippe Merckx, voor de studenten en personeelsleden die niet naar huis kunnen”, manager of the student restaurant.
