From fundamental research to patient treatments
TORC brings together researchers, doctors, and patients around a single goal: to develop better cancer treatments. Our teams work every day on innovative forms of immunotherapy, including:
- Personalized cancer immunotherapy;
- Dendritic cell vaccines;
- CAR-T and CAR-NK cell therapies;
- mRNA-based treatments;
- Research into biomarkers that predict which patients will respond to therapy;
- New strategies to reduce treatment resistance and side effects.
What makes TORC unique is the close collaboration between the lab and the clinic. Insights from patient care lead directly to new research questions, while discoveries in the lab can be translated more quickly into clinical trials.

Although immunotherapy has made tremendous progress, we still face significant challenges. Many patients do not respond adequately to existing treatments. Other patients develop resistance or experience severe side effects. Furthermore, new therapies require complex technologies, specialized infrastructure, and long-term research before they can reach patients.
