In light of the VUB International Day (8 October), organised by the Vicerectorate Internationalisation in cooperation with the Vicerectorate Research, we want to highlight the VUB's international partnerships and cooperation work. One of the events that is part of this International Day, is the University International Equitable Cooperation (IEC) Career Award, now in its fifth year.
The event takes place on Thursday 8 October 2026, on the VUB's main campus, at the U-Residence building, starting prompt at 16:30 and finishing at 17:30, followed by a reception.
The IEC Award was created to recognise VUB academics for their contribution to international equitable cooperation, and is part of the VUB Global Minds Programme, which aims to strengthen cooperation with partners in the Global South. Nominees must be active VUB academics, with a proven track record in international equitable university cooperation, and must have an extensive network in the Global South consisting of professors, staff and students, which is accessible to the VUB community.
This year's award will go to two recipients who 100% match these criteria. Please join us in finding out who they are, and their numerous achievements
