STOP. LISTEN.

Amid all the noise, something still matters.

Authentic voices.

For the eighth time, Brussels students take the stage to showcase their talent as speakers during Students’ Speakers Corner. Through self-written speeches, they share their perspectives on current affairs, politics, culture, or philosophy—and challenge the audience to think.

That is precisely why the Universitaire Associatie Brussel, together with Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Erasmushogeschool Brussel, organises this initiative: to help shape outspoken, critical citizens who dare to speak—and to listen.

By encouraging critical thinking.
By coaching students to address an audience.
By offering them a truly open platform to share their ideas.

A rare opportunity to put freedom of expression into practice. Because while today’s world offers countless (social) media channels, there are few genuinely open spaces where young people can speak freely to a live, listening audience.

Same mission, renewed format

Following earlier editions linked to Difference Day, on the World Press Freedom Day, this year’s event stands on its own as an independent initiative.

This is what it looked like in 2025
