Laura throws herself wholeheartedly into student life. She tells you everything you want to know about her adventures. This time, she’s exploring the swimming pool!
"Have you never swum on campus? Install the VUB Sport app before you begin. It’s really convenient: you can reserve your spot on it and get an overview of how many people will show up at any time. No more surprises and ideal if you prefer to swim when it’s less congested."
"At the swimming pool, you can buy single passes with Sport!Mix, a card that allows you to participate in a series of sports activities during the academic year. Perfect if you like to be active together or simply want to try something new!"
Tip: Download the VUB Sport app before your visit.

Leisurely lap swimming
"Reserved your spot? Scan your ticket at the entrance and gain access to the swimming pool. Lockers on the premises are free, and there are shelves that can hold your towel and water bottle."
"I swam a few laps in the pool, together with a friend. At 5 PM, there were about 3 to 4 other swimmers per lane - plenty of space left for everyone to enjoy their stay! The pool is 25 meters long, counts 5 lanes, and has a depth ranging from 1 to 3 meters, so any beginner or avid swimmer can get the most out of it."
Well-deserved aperitif
"Post-swim activity: time for a well-deserved drink! Right next to the swimming pool is ‘t Complex, a bar with plenty of seating for an enjoyable time after a swimming session. You can also play pool inside, by the way - a tip for those who prefer to stay dry during their break."
Conclusion: swimming = the perfect break
"Switch off your brain and stay active at the same time - submerging yourself in the water is the ideal study break. I had forgotten how intense it can be! Getting my body back in action after a long day of studying felt amazing. I’ll definitely go back again during the exam period in June. A quick plunge to recharge, I love it!"
