Digital technology is evolving at breakneck speed. Organisations cannot simply keep up. They need to make deliberate choices about artificial intelligence, data and digital infrastructure. AI literacy and digital autonomy are not luxuries. They are essential conditions for staying agile and future-focused.

On 26 and 31 March 2026, the Knowledge Centre Data & Society (imec-SMIT, VUB) is hosting two free networking events in Brussels. Researchers, businesses and professionals will come together to explore how to tackle digital challenges in a concrete and practical way within your organisation.

26 March — Hoe goed ken je het AI B C? Working on AI literacy in your organisation

(This first event will be held in Dutch.)

One year after the introduction of AI literacy requirements under the European AI Act, many organisations are still searching for a structured approach. The legislation requires staff to have sufficient knowledge to use AI responsibly. But how do you translate that into everyday practice?

During this morning session, you will gain insight into:

  • how to embed AI literacy within existing structures
  • what the regulation means in practical terms for your organisation
  • current AI learning needs in Flanders
  • how to move from scattered initiatives to a sustainable strategy
  • the shared responsibility of employers and employees

Alongside expert speakers, organisations will share hands-on experience from the field.
