VUB opens applications for InterACT

The Vrije Universiteit Brussel has launched the first call for InterACT, an international programme for postdoctoral researchers. Through this call, researchers have the opportunity to conduct research at VUB for three years while also working to enhance the societal impact of their research.

InterACT aims to strengthen the bridge between science and policy. Researchers often generate knowledge that can help address societal challenges and inform political decision-making, but they do not always have the opportunity to ensure that this knowledge reaches beyond their own field. Through InterACT, VUB aims to change that. The programme supports researchers who wish to translate their scientific expertise into insights that are useful for society and policymakers.
One of InterACT’s key strengths is its emphasis on collaboration across boundaries. The selected researchers will not only work with colleagues from other disciplines, but also with partners outside academia. This will give them the opportunity to develop new perspectives and ensure that their research is more closely aligned with societal needs.
Researchers from all scientific disciplines are invited to apply. The selected postdoctoral researchers will receive a three-year fellowship. In total, fourteen international researchers will join VUB through InterACT, across two calls within a five-year programme.
The programme is coordinated by the European Research and Innovation Support (ERIS) team within the Vice-Rectorate for Innovation and Industrial Relations. InterACT is co-funded by the European Union through Horizon Europe and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.
