After graduation

Your job? Solving real-world problems! Geographers integrate the study of physical and human systems. They are in equal parts natural and social scientists and have specialised knowledge in geographical information science techniques.

What have you learnt?

As a geographer, you will be a specialist in techniques for analysing and unravelling complex interactions between man and environment. Your contribution to the debate on environmental change, globalisation, and other societal challenges will be valuable, and you will be in high demand in the search for solutions for the more sustainable development of our planet. The Department of Geography at VUB and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at KU Leuven (both in the top 100 of the QS ranking) are the perfect partners to provide this two-year master programme in geography (120 ECTS) in which you can combine a common core with two out of four specialisation modules: Earth and Climate; Society and Space; Geo-information Sciences and Mixed Methods. The programme offers comprehensive coverage of spatially explicit approaches for analysing social and natural phenomena and how these interact. Hands-on training in the use of qualitative and quantitative geographical research techniques prepares you perfectly for your future career.
