Campus in development

The ongoing development of the VUB Health Campus has an impact on campus traffic. For everyone's safety, we urge that you respect the traffic rules and steer clear of the work zones.


Access and directions

On foot
  • Consult the campus map to find your way on foot in the vicinity of and on the VUB Health Campus.
  • Take into account the work zones and follow the routes indicated on the campus map and the campus.
  • You can also reach the VUB campus through the hospital, via route 1199 from the consultations entrance.

By bike
  • In Brussels, it’s easy to get around by bike. Plan your cycling route on or
  • The campus surroundings have been completely redesigned, with a great deal of care for pedestrians and cyclists. The campus is located along the F212 Asse-Brussels and FR0 Ring Road Brussels cycle highways. 
  • You will find bicycle sheds scattered around the campus. Staff and students can use the locked parking spaces.
  • There is also a Villo! station on Dikke-Beuklaan. There, with a subscription or ticket, you can hire a bike and return it to another Villo! station of your choice. Convenient to make the trip to Jette railway station, where there is also a Villo! station.

By tram or bus

You can reach the campus on tram 9 (MIVB) or the MIVB and De Lijn buses.

  • Tram 9 stops at UZ Brussels stop. This tram connects the campus with metro stops Simonis and Koning Boudewijn.
  • MIVB bus lines 13, 14 and 88 stop along the campus.
  • De Lijn 245, 810 and 820 lines stop along the campus.

Until Jette station
Jette station is served by both intercity and suburban S-trains. From the station, you can reach the campus by:

Until Brussels North
From Brussels North station, STIB bus 14 will take you to the campus in about 30 minutes.

Until Brussels South
At Brussels South station, take metro line 2 (toward Simonis) or metro line 6 (toward Koning Boudewijn) to Simonis and change there to tram 9 (toward Koning Boudewijn) to the UZ Brussels stop.

Unitl Vilvoorde
From Antwerp and Mechelen, you can get off the train in Vilvoorde and take the 820 De Lijn bus (to UZ Brussels).

Access and directions

Access for visitors
  • The VUB Health Campus can be reached by car via the large Ring (R0) around Brussels. Take exit 9 (Jette) and merge onto Dikke-Beuklaan. Turn right on Laarbeeklaan and take access 4 of the VUB Health Campus. There are several car parks on the site. You can also park at Green Energy Park in Zellik, accessible via exit 10 of the R0.
  • Are you coming to visit a staff member on campus? Then follow this procedure.
  • Are you a Supplier? Then you have to take all your deliveries to the Faculty Secretariat in building A. Ask your contact person at VUB to have your number plate registered.
  • In case of problems, drive up to the barrier and use the intercom to report to security.


Students and staff

Staff and students can register in advance with their VUB account, to be able to drive onto campus by car. The barriers will open automatically thanks to license plate recognition.

  • The campus is governed by the highway code and a parking regulation with a tow-away policy, so make sure you park your car correctly!

Low Emission Zone

Pay attention! The campus is located in the low emission zone (LEZ) of the Brussels Capital Region (BCR). If you come by car, check here whether your vehicle is allowed to drive in the LEZ. Your vehicle doesn’t meet the access criteria for the LEZ? Then you can buy a day pass. Vehicles registered abroad must register for the LEZ unless they are registered in the Netherlands.
