AI for the common good
Are you fascinated by AI? Do you want to approach technology for the benefit of society? Do you also want to contribute to the creation of an AI infrastructure across Europe? Then AI for the COMMON GOOD is for you!
The AI Experience Center is an innovation hub based in Brussels. It is supported by the Belgian AI community, VUB and ULB. The center contributes to the creation of an AI infrastructure across Europe, representing European values and standards. The emphasis is on providing knowledge that is not only innovative, but also understands the ethical implications of technology. In March, the AI Experience Center will launch an independent center to create an even greater social and economic impact.
You will join a highly influential research team thanks to this project. For example, more than 300 researchers divided into 10 research groups are working on the following three themes: AI research and innovation HB, AI and society think thank (pulic opinion) and AI test and experience lab. Within these three pillars, you will also work on five sub-themes: health and well-being, energy, media and democracy, the public sector and administration. It goes without saying that, thanks to these themes, you will have an important influence on society through AI.
In concrete terms, you will work on new projects within the AI4CG. For example, you think about a transparent and fair algorithm for school allocation and about the public deliberation on AI for Brussels, in which the residents are involved. In addition, you offer support to existing VUB and ULB projects in applying AI. An example is the Data Buzz project on digital literature. Finally, you help with partner projects. An example of such a project is AI against sexual violence. All these projects expose the importance of AI for our university, Brussels and even Europe. So don't hesitate and join the AI for the common good project!
