Help build the future of vulnerable youth in Brussels with BXL Living Vechtsportlab!

Are you an openminded VUB'er? Do you think inclusiveness is important? Do you want to learn about the positive social effects of combat sports like boxing? Then BXL Living Martial Arts Lab is something for you!

Many young people - especially in the Brussels context - find themselves in a socially vulnerable position. This makes it necessary to guide them in a systematic and effective way. This need has not escaped the notice of the VUB, which therefore went in search of a solution. The university found that various trajectories at home and abroad show that active involvement of the young people offers the best chances for successful outcomes. For example, it has been scientifically proven that martial arts such as boxing lead to strengthened social cohesion. To connect these insights with practice, the university therefore launched the BXL Living Martial Arts Lab. With the help of volunteers, the university wants to offer young people the help they deserve. As a VUB employee, you can be the ideal help for this!

As a volunteer within the project you ensure that young people are optimally guided within social (martial arts) practices. In this way you do not only ensure social cohesion between the young people, but you also create an interaction between different sectors such as research, sports, justice, welfare and culture. This interaction in turn ensures a positive influence on vulnerable young people. In addition, thanks to your support for the project, you provide a responsible outlet. In other words, you build a brighter future together with the young people. So don't hesitate and participate in BXL Living Martial Arts Lab!
