At Edukado, you work with the local population to realize a social project abroad

Once the people behind Edukado studied at VUB. Now they support you in developing a social project in a low-income country. Would you like to experience an unforgettable cultural exchange in which you carry out a construction project in one year, together with the local population? At Edukado, you will find allies and support for the realisation of this project, from drawing up the plans to construction on site. This can be classrooms, but also a well near a school or other infrastructure related to education. Education or technical background is not important. Only your commitment counts!

Edukado?

With Edukado, you work with a team of fellow students and the local population to create better conditions for children to go to school, giving them more opportunities for a brighter future. You do this not only by raising funds, but also by realising a project on site. For this, you travel for two months to the country. Previously, VUB students worked in India, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Nepal and Bangladesh. This year, Edukado is working with the Togolese organisation Sichem and with Togo Debout to expand the secondary school in Dzogblakopé.

Do you want to get your teeth into a project where you build everything from scratch? Then check out the Edukado website or use the contact form to find out how you too can help build a better world for people in low-income countries.

*As an Urban Engaged University, we call upon our VUB community to help build a better world through social engagement. On the "The World Needs You" platform, the VUB collects socially meaningful projects on which students, staff, alumni and sympathisers can collaborate. These projects do not represent the university. The initiatives and communication are the responsibility of the project organisers and do not represent the university's position.
