With weKONEKT.brussels, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and Brussels partners contribute to the development of a free, connected and engaged community. Together they strengthen the Brussels community by organizing education with, in and for Brussels. Researchers use their expertise to make Brussels stronger by providing answers to metropolitan, societal challenges. Initiatives include education, sports, culture, science, art, law and more. During the wekonekt.week you can discover these initiatives.

Bike tour: Renting for starters

Would you like to stay in Brussels after you graduate? Do you have a job in the city and you dread the commute? Brussels offers a lot of options for first-time renters: living together with friends in a community centre, renting a floor from private individuals or perhaps your first place of residence. During this bicycle tour a real Brussels expert will show you nice and affordable options in the centre of Brussels, Schaarbeek and Sint-Joost-ten-Node. How do you get from Schaarbeek to the centre? Where are the cosy cafés? Where do you do your shopping? Residents talk about their living experience in Brussels.

*As an Urban Engaged University, we call upon our VUB community to help build a better world through social engagement. On the "The World Needs You" platform, the VUB collects socially meaningful projects on which students, staff, alumni and sympathisers can collaborate. These projects do not represent the university. The initiatives and communication are the responsibility of the project organisers and do not represent the university's position.
