Last year Vrije Universiteit Brussel set up, together with its students, a large climate campaign to become a game changer in the climate debate. The name We Are Paris covered the combined efforts of students and professors to raise consciousness on the urge of the climate issue. From their own expertise or positive projects in Europe students reported on possible solutions or efforts for a better, more sustainable world.

The Climate Conference has become a distant past for a lot of people or never was a real conference due to the terrorism happenings in the same period. VUB nevertheless prosecutes its battle. The past few years VUB did not sit still and worked on a sustainable action plan for the future. More than even, VUB wants to profile itself as a sustainable university. On Monday March 14 some of these plans and steps will be presented by professor Cathy Macharis. We also cast a final look on what We Are Paris has brought about.

Comedy & music

Next to the informative aspect, the main attention will go to entertainment with ‘7 promises’, an international comedy performance by Davis Freeman and Jerry Killick. This bizarre show encourages the public to make promises for the climate in return for a shot of vodka. The more you promise, the more you get launched in the vodka.

Little Trouble Kids takes care of the music and will perform thematically, using an arrangement of self-made music instruments from recycled material.

This is all for free. Let’s meet on Monday March 14, at 7:30pm in auditorium Q. See you then! More info is to be found on WeAreParis.be.
