From postdoc to research leader
The Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO) offers competitive funding opportunities for postdoctoral researchers aiming to build an independent academic career at a Flemish university. The FWO postdoctoral fellowships provide 3 years of financial support and enable researchers to carry out their own project in close collaboration with a VUB host research group. FWO postdoc funding is open to Belgian as well as international candidates and includes two tracks based on career stage: Junior and Senior postdoctoral fellowships. In addition, FWO's prestigious Odysseus Programme (Type I and II) provides a unique opportunity for experienced postdocs working abroad to establish a long-term research line and build their own team at VUB.
