It is with much sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Bony Islam Khan, a master's student in Linguistics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He passed away on 13 October 2024.
In 2018, Bony graduated from North South University in Bangladesh and later came to VUB to pursue a master's degree in Linguistics. He was a warm and engaged individual.
Beyond his academic interests, Bony was a passionate football fan and an active member of the Manchester City OSC Bangladesh. His friends there remember him as a kind-hearted, always cheerful person who regularly took part in supporters' club events.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who held him dear.
