About RADMEP+

RADMEP+ is a two-year (120 ECTS) Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's degree training engineers to understand, predict and counter the effects of radiation on microelectronics and photonic systems

RADMEP+'s objective is to educate students in these advanced technologies, providing methodologies and introducing practical applications for their implementation in a variety of natural or man-made radiation-rich environments. RADMEP+ has two goals: first, to improve the career prospects of its students and second, to respond to the needs of the industry, agencies and society. Thanks to this Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree, students will develop useful professional and soft skills in the rich European cultural context.

RADMEP+ is an Erasmus Mundus Master of Science. What does this mean for you? 

The European Master in Radiation and its effects on MicroElectronics and Photonics Technologies (RADMEP+) is a prestigious, integrated, international Erasmus Mundus study programme with compulsory mobility, jointly delivered by an international consortium of six higher education institutions: University of Jyväskylä (Finland), KU Leuven (Belgium), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium), Ghent University (Belgium), Université Saint-Etienne (France) and Université de Montpellier (France).

Compulsory mobility structure

All RADMEP+ students will start their studies in semester 1 at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland). In semester 2, students move to Belgium and choose a specialisation: either Photonics at Ghent University and VUB, or MicroElectronics at KU Leuven Geel Campus. In the summer between Year 1 and Year 2, students do a 2-month internship at one of the partner institutions or associate partners. In the third semester, students specialising in Photonics will move to UniversitĂ© Jean Monnet Saint-Étienne (France), whereas those specialising in Microelectronics will attend UniversitĂ© de Montpellier (France). Finally, in semester 4, students will undertake a 6-month master's thesis in a research centre or in the industry (for example, from the large RADMEP network of more than 35 associate partners).
